Despite the obvious fact that Welfare was a stupendous disaster for the country, it took decades to reform it, achieved only because Gingrich & Repubs took Congress and intimidated Clinton into signing it.

After vetoing it twice, Clinton was told by Dick Morris that he he wanted to win re-election, he'd better sign it.

Never informing voters of their intentions, Obama and Democrats have repealed it behind American voters' backs.

And my estimate of $1 trillion annual spending is quite low. The damage Obama will do to this country is tremendous. If he manages to get Government Monopoly Health Care and, resultingly, the rest of his Radical Left agenda, the damage would be incalculable to the country.

.

Quote

The End of the End of Welfare as We Know It [NRO Staff]

Stephen Spruiell highlights a new Robert Rector study on Obama welfare spending. He begins:

Obama started increasing welfare spending immediately after assuming office. The stimulus bill included $220 billion in new means-tested spending, including a little-noticed provision that repealed one of the key welfare reforms of the Clinton era. The 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act capped welfare dollars to states, ending the perverse system that rewarded states for adding cases to their welfare rolls. The 2009 stimulus bill lifted the caps. Once again, states that add to their rolls qualify for more cash.

President Clinton said his legislation would “end welfare as we know it.” If Rector’s estimates are correct, Obama will spend twice as much on welfare as Clinton did. He is off to an incredible start. His $88.2 billion increase in welfare spending in 2009 is twice as large as any other increase in history. By the end of next year, he will have increased welfare spending by $263 billion, which is two and a half times greater than any previous increase.

For RichClem,

Posted Today, 03:13 PM

So as an administrator, Misty made a decision, which she is granted with that title and based on your behavior Clem, she suspened your posting for 14 minutes. (Even if this was an hour, splitting hairs at this point seems irrelevant).

I certainly have learned something about the LF I did not know before, and that you Clem have a different status than everyone else. That many other members have been suspended and or banned for much less disruptive behavior than what you exhibit. What we saw was you contacted David_R, who quickly contacts Chuck, who quickly contacts you to let you know that this should not have happened etc.

To look at that response time is quite revealing, your relationship with David_R precludes you from rules most anyone else would have to follow, even for NHB.

I have listed below some examples of David_R's posts regarding moderating and I don't think anyone would argue that there are many inconsistencies as to how the rules are applied, and that is not to suggest that is wrong, it is the owners prerogative imo, but it significant enough to me that I point them out considering the claims you make here on this forum for being a threat to liberals. I would hope that after yesterday, members understand one thing about you, that you do not carry your own weight, you have assistance from the forum owner that no one else does, and at least there should be more candor about that.

I believe it is safe to conclude that you are that weak of character, that without your special relationship however you two define it, you would not survive any other liberal political forum. For there are several conservatives here that topple your IQ and debate skills too, but perhaps you do not mind playing the circus freak for the opportunity to espouse your pov, and that again, is fine, I just think members should be aware of WHY you are allowed to do so.

Some examples of David_R's advice on moderating NHB.

The Racism and Prejudice have gotten progressively worse. Personal attacks instead of debating the topic at hand has become progressively worse as well. This forum is heading down hill.

How much can one debate policy, etc... ...........pretty boring....... but the mods are ok if they delete really crude curse words in the title... just use your imagination..... and don't use curse words..

That's not what the Boss meant by duplicate threads.
He put back the one you moved.

In fact, he has a standing for the mods to not touch any of Rich's threads.

They have a long standing agreement about it.

WELL, David, It is clear you don't like to control people. Your code of conduct is treated like used toilet paper. Tthe ONLY rule that matters has nothing to do with that code. It has to do with 'spam', the advertisement and promotion of competitors.

the code of conduct was written before I bought the forum... really, the only rules are.. 1. no advertise other forum..2. no overboard disruptive behavior which is designed to cause to any normative person visiting the forum to leave the LF.. 3. Liberal only are for liberal only..

that is it..

Hey Mike, Find me a few hundred liberal posters like yourself and I will boot Clem's A-- out of town.

The LF tried that technique for years and it was not so successful. There is the Liberal Only room,

Would you want to be a moderator there?

BTW, I found the technique for illiminating spam...

1. ban lots of email addresses, such as all the well known
russian, ukrainian, middle east, etc email providers.

2. check the ip address of all that want to be members.

It is a bit time consuming to check all the ip addresses, but it seems to be working.

It was not Kaz's idea to take it public, it was mine.... the whole time I thought that this oversite committee was public...

but, now it is.... I just want stuff to be transparent and out in the open... In a political forum we are dealing with strong personalities. Just enjoy the fact, that we are meeting people with similar strong personalities as oursleves in a virtual world..... More likely than not, there should be a rule that personal attacks should be taboo..... But, Dash, you are in charge of the various rooms,, and the most likely scenario is that you will always be in charge of at least one room....... Even the news room, in essence, is a debate room, if one wants to debate...

I just don't want more than one room getting too right wing... So, if Kaz or another liberal wants to get more involved, what am I supposed to do?

of course, I am floating out ideas and invite others to join in.....

What about the famous "Clem" mentioned above? Is he still there?

Clem and I are buddies. He wrote some really good stuff. I have not seen him in a few weeks, but hopefully he'll be back. I would like an intellectual conservative like him to join the forum.

And to MistyBlue, I applaud you, you did the right thing and he had to pay a consequence for 14 whole minutes, could be one of the few consequences of his behavior he has ever had to deal with, ROFL. Fantastic and about time, anyone who denies it, is clearly an expert at denial in general.

Misty, a you are a stand up gal, Bravo!

It is evident that lil Little Lord Fauntleroy has some kind of special privilege here.

He acts like a spoiled little child and all his little bullies fall right in and support him.

It is not good for this site.

On the battlefield, when one man goes down with honor fighting the good fight, it is a moral imperitive for others to stand up for what's right, even if they suffer the same fate or worse. Heaven forbid I become like those cowards who have turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the psychotic behavior of RichClem and fostered an environment where a woman can be harassed and stalked for over a year on this forum while they pretend all is well. They are as the person living next door to a man who is beating the hell out of his girlfriend who turn up the tv because the noise is annoying them.

This is not the first time this has occurred on this forum. RichClem is not the only person to do this on the forum. Comrade Ogilvy and larryc12 have also indulged in such behavior, unchecked, according to what I was told in an email. That leaves the blood for their actions on David_R and Chuck! and a lot of others. At this point I'm sure there are other instances & perpatrators of which I am unaware.

The following was written by Henry_ and I agree with what he says
